Abstract

La viticulture bulgare, très ancienne, s'est beaucoup développée à l'époque romaine, puis sous la domination turque. Elle occupe actuellement, par sa superficie, le 14e rang dans le monde. Plus de 70 p. 100 des vignobles appartiennent à l'état. Les cépages de cuve, blancs et rouges, représentent 79 p. 100 de la superficie et la production de raisins de table dépasse 300.000 tonnes.

The culture of the vine in ancient Bulgaria developed extensively in early Roman Times, and afterwards under the influence of Turkish occupation. Bulgaria now has the fourteenth highest area planted in vines in the world. More than 70 per cent of the vineyards are state-owned. Varieties for vine production, both red and white, represent 79 per cent of plantings. The table grape production exceeds 300.000 tonnes.
